JUNE COUNCIL MEETING

Unanimous Position on Agreement Negotiations

That Council endorses the following position for recommendation to branches and negotiators in the upcoming enterprise bargaining round

  1. The IEU be willing to negotiate in the federal system, without necessarily conceding the jurisdiction, if previous conditions are not lost.

  2. That AWAs be rejected in favour of collective industrial arrangements.

  3. That collective agreements be Union Collective Agreements where the Union has members and/or involvement.

  4. That Branches adopt the modified versions of the state awards as prepared by AIS with IEU input, bearing in mind any identified caveats.

  5. That dispute resolution be provided by the SA Industrial Relations Commission through the powers of the Commercial Arbitration and Industrial Referral Agreements Act 1986.

  6. That a General Referral Agreement be signed by the parties to provide for conciliation, mediation and arbitration as the Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanism under the Workplace Relations Act
