POLICY: Assistance
to Members from Country Branches to Attend IEU(SA)
Instigated Meetings.
Replacement Salary Costs
If no paid leave is available from the employer, IEU(SA) will reimburse the member's school for the actual cost of replacement staff (up to the Enterprise Agreement rate) if it is necessary for the member to attend the meeting and/or to use school time for travelling.
Road Travel Assistance
Travel support for members residing more than 50 km (one
way) by road from the meeting venue.
1. Application
for assistance under this policy must be made to the Secretary in advance of
the scheduled meeting. With payment being made after the meeting has taken
place.
2. Members who reside more than 50 kms but less than 150 kms by
road from the meeting venue be recompensed $100, up to 250 kms $200,
up to 400 kms $300 and over 400 kms $400.
3. The
above rates will apply on a "per car" basis and distances are one way
rather than round trip.
4. Accommodation and meal costs will not normally be reimbursed.
5. Assistance
in excess of this policy (such as, for example, the use of air transport) may
be negotiated with the Secretary in advance of the scheduled meeting.
Air travel assistance
1. Where air travel is the most realistic option for members to attend IEU organised meetings or training, prior application for reimbursement by the IEU must be made to the Secretary.
2. This is likely to be for branches in or near Cedunda, Port Lincoln, Whyalla, Roxby Downs, Pt Augusta, Mt Gambier.
3. Each country branch where air travel is the most appropriate method can expect to have approval for attendance by a branch member at

The two attendances per branch per
year as set out in point 3 may be undertaken by different
members.
5. Additional support may be available under special circumstances.
6. Approved costs of the airfare will be reimbursed after the attendance at the approved meeting or training and upon production of receipts and boarding passes.
7. Accommodation and meal costs will not normally be reimbursed.
No travel assistance for meetings
at IEU(SA) Constitution (s5)
Council,
Special Conferences or AGMs.
1. Provision has been made in the IEU(SA) Constitution 5.6.5 for Council delegates for branches in excess of 100 km from the venue to arrange proxy representation.
2. Provision has been made in the IEU(SA) Constitution 5.6.3.2 for replacement salary cost reimbursement and reasonable attendance costs for Council meetings held in school working hours.
3. No travel assistance will be provided to attend Council meetings, Special Conferences or AGMs held outside of school working hours.
