The negotiators
have met twice with employer representatives to begin working through
their respective claims for a new agreement for staff in Lutheran schools
It has been agreed
that we will negotiate changes to the existing 2005 Enterprise Agreement
which is now called a Preserved State Agreement (PSA) (Under the new
government’s amendments to the Workplace Relations Act this can now be
done) This agreement will extend from 1 August 2008 to 31 July 2010.
As yet there is no
agreement about any other matters. Both employer and employee negotiators
have undertaken to collect further information to support their claims to
present at the next meeting which will be held on 1 July.
The employers have
not as yet provided a salary offer for consideration.
The LSO
Classification Working Party is continuing to work towards having a draft
document ready for consultation in the near future.
