Fact Sheet #4 Getting Help From IEU(SA) IEU(SA) Officers are available to answer member questions 9am to 5pm, weekdays (except for a short Christmas shutdown period.) .. Simply phone 8410 0122 giving your name, school and membership number. Member questions may be as straight forward as the confirming of award/agreement pay rates and simple award interpretations or they may involve more complex and technical matters necessitating direct assistance from an IEU(SA) officer to deal with grievances and disputes which may not be easily settled at the local school level. Whatever the work-related problem, IEU(SA) officers will be able to offer advice and support. IEU(SA)'s prime concern is to ensure that due process is followed and a fair and reasonable outcome is achieved for the member. IEU(SA) can also offer training, advice and support with
Of course, IEU(SA) assistance is for members only as it is members' subscriptions that pay for the services. It is not reasonable to expect existing members to support those who have chosen to remain non-members or people who want to join only when they discover that they have an industrial problem. What insurance companies would insure your house after it burned down?? Consequently IEU(SA) has a non-member policy.
